It breaks my heart to see our country so divided. The division has been present from the beginning, growing ever wider since the inception of this Nation, but in this one presidential term, it has all come to a head. One man has pulled every ounce of negativity out of his base followers, and spread it all over our country's Capitol. The latest news reports that there are over 50 injured police officers and at least four people dead because Donald Trump and his minions are sore losers. This goes beyond division, this is domestic terrorism.
Do you know who else were sore losers? The confederates. Low and behold, Trump minions were sporting confederate battle flags while killing people in the Nation's Capitol yesterday.
The Confederate battle flag symbolizes division and hate. It represents one of the most horrific times in United States history. The adage "brother against brother" isn't just a saying; during the Civil War, family members literally took up arms against one another. To proudly carry a flag representing such a horrific and sorrowful time for our country shows how much these people care about this Nation...which is not at all!
All of the chaos, death, and mayhem came about because these people were showing loyalty to one man. How is it that these people who see Donald Trump as some sort of god, cannot see how he has duped them? He has lied to them, cheated them, broken promises to them, treated them like horse crap, yet they still believe he cares about them. What does he have to do to them for them to see that he only cares about himself.
His pettiness comes through in spades when he fires a political appointee for tweeting that he isn't fit to stay in office. To any intelligent and sane person, that's a "no duh." I mean, he should never have been elected in the first place! He's obviously an idiot! But to fire someone for stating an opinion? In many states, that's illegal (unless you live in a crappy 'right to work' state).
There is obviously no right answer here. Trump supporters are never going to see Donald Trump for who he really is. They will continue rioting, hating, sore losering, and keeping their distance...despite any efforts to bring the country together. The rest of us will be left to pick up the pieces. We will have to clean up the Capitol, console the victims, and help the people who have been hurt by this chaos.
