Ok, so my daughter introduced me to Animal Crossing by asking for New Horizons for Christmas. We got her the game, and my husband also got a copy for me. The game is absolutely adorable, and I understand why my daughter loves it so much. The sandbox style of the game plays into her creative nature. She can turn her island into whatever she wants...and she has such a vivid imagination that she can create a magical land.
I'd like to think that I have a creative nature and vivid imagination. My island is a work in progress, and there is a lot to do before it will reflect anything remotely like what I imagine it should look like, so imagine my surprise when I opened the game this morning to find that Resident Services (the main resource in the game) was closed!
WT actual H. I mean really! Does Nintendo do these things on purpose to upset their players? They understand that Non-player characters are perfectly capable of celebrating holidays without disrupting gameplay for the players, don't they? If anything could cause me to rage quit a game like this, preventing me from playing is it. Perhaps Nintendo should think long and hard about that before preventing millions of players from playing the game.
