Dragon Joe

"Dragon Joe" 2/5/1976-2/8/2021

My brother Joe was one of a kind. He believed that everyone was inherently good. He looked for opportunities to help others, and was often taken advantage of because of it. Anyone who thought they got one "over" on Joe, think again. He was smarter than most, he simply wanted others to see the kindness in the world.

As a child, his smile could brighten any room. He started out as a chunky monkey with adorable little apple cheeks and bright brown eyes. Before long he grew into a handsome boy with an amazing smile that could melt the coldest of hearts.

Even at this young age, the evidence of his immense intelligence was apparent. He could calculate amazingly large numbers in his head. While other children were making fake volcanoes for science projects, Joe was wiring relay switches. He understood the universe in ways other people could only imagine.

It wasn't long before he shot up into a towering 6'4" man. His heart of gold, towering intellect, and willingness to help others never wavered.

Joe has always believed in karma. He also believed that he could somehow negate the negative karma of others by overriding it with his own good karma. If that were true, this planet would be a utopian paradise. Joe generated love and kindness.

Joe was never a drinker, but he did like to have one Grasshopper every year. To honor my brother's memory, I am including a recipe so others can share in Joe's favorite cocktail:

  • 1 shot of Creme de Menthe

  • 1 shot of Creme de Cocoa

  • 2-4 ounces of Heavy Cream

Directions:

Combine ingredients, stir together, then pour over ice.

Rest in Peace, Dragon Joe. You will be sorely missed.
